honestly man, you have reached your most pinnacle work here on newgrounds. and i know you wont be making music that often anymore, but keep note - that you will allways have high standards for your self and some how when ever things are looking down, you keep on moving. that has inspired me and i am following you in your footsteps in music making. I am working on songs slower now because of lazy ness and the fact that it's hard to get better when you know your good and trying to suprise peopel with really epic pieces.
(sorry if my review is kind of sloppy :P)
the progression is just smoothing, although there are a few wierd things in there ;P the arrangement is flawless in my opinion, but i never really found a really good climax in your song. the melody seems to be a little bit too quite, unless the chord progression is the climax and the melody is suppose to be in the back round. i cant really tell.
the bass, well, kind of plain. if there was some rolling bass in there, that would make the song sound full in highs, mids, and lows. you may just had left it out because it would sound muffled - but it would definately sound much better. i am listening to this song with my sennheiser headphones know and i noticed some of the mids in the breakdown section glitched and kind of hurt my ears a little bit, you may have had a little too much bass in them.
this is really your most epic pieces ever karco. and i think from your beginnings piece, this is kind of like a sequal to it ;) and im glad you put this song out here because it just sounds completely amazing. and ever sence you put my song airless gravity on your favorites, i knew i had potential. i am working my ass on my next/latest song. i remember the time you use to write a 5 paragraph essay on my oldest songs, and that really helped. now when you say you really have nothing to write about, i know im almost there. my mixing is 9/10 complete and my drums are getting better and so is my arrangement. and soon to greater melodies.
YOU are my inspiration to create full trance pieces. and i will soon be following in your steps on leaving newgrounds (in music wise) in the next few months/year to be producing even better tracks.
thank you karco, really.
Author's Response:
And thank YOU, Neodrummer, for reviewing. ;D
Now that plenty of people are mentioning the progression, I'm realizing I need to be a bit more careful next time. :P Thanks for that.
You seem to have a different set of expectations for climax/peak from mine. For me, as long as it's got a lot of energy and release, anything goes. ;D And that's how it is in nearly all professional Trance as well.
The bass (and judges of Trancegiving may care to read this as well) was an imitation of the bass in Daniel Kandi's remix of Masters & Nickson - Out There (5th Dimension). Not much more than that. It IS pretty plain, but I plan on creating some pretty sick basses in the future. ;D It's difficult to use only a sub or sublike synth as your bass synth, and I did my best, but apparently for some people it wasn't enough.
This is new, my mix didn't sound good to you? Again, I don't worry too much about an issue unless multiple critics bring it up, so it may be your headphones. I really don't know. :\ I do have a brand new pair of earbuds though, and though they're only slightly different from the pair I used to mix this track, I'll be sure to mix future tracks with both to be sure. I hope to get some nice Sennheisers in the near future myself, and I'll be able to have a listen with all three. :D
I try, Neo. :) It's always great to hear that I'm such an inspiration to people, that my music means more than "fun to listen to." Keep at it, you've got a style of your own - don't let go of it!
(Of course, when I say I don't have much to say, it's often because you're using the same drums/have the same problems that you usually do. But you ARE improving, Escape is great, VERY creative, I especially like the pulse wave idea. :D)
Thanks for the thoughtful review! Glad you liked it that much. :)

Pretty enjoyable, nice bass synths, good percussion. What i found kind of annoying was the same thing playing over and over again. I know, it's suppose to be goa isn't it? If it is, usually what makes them fun to listen to if there's like lots of FX, and beeps here and there, and small little melodys.
This is something that I would enjoy listening to, but not a lot of times ;) Mind checking out my song that I just submitted Escape? Yes, I did get bombed, they're both on our pages :/
Keep it up. 4/5.
Author's Response:
Ahhh zero bombers are the scum. I'll leave you a review k?
Well I didn't have a lot of time for this song so I had to cut corners and re-use stuff, but the song is so short that it doesn't even matter. Thanks for the review bro. Listen to the original version and see how far I've come.

Here's another idea: Listen to different genres that you dont know how to make, that is something enjoyable to listen to for you. And if you have a midi keyboard that can hook up to synths that you have, play around with it and you'll get something.
But one thing that really sucks, is that most of my inspiration comes from school when i zone out, and then i forget all the great shit when i come home ^^. Also, one of my songs was an inspiration from me taking a dumo :P

Really liked the melodies. They are original as well. The only problem i found that was kind of annoying was the mastering problem, not really smooth and making everything clutter.
That's pretty much all i could say, so keep it up ^^
5/5.
Author's Response:
Actually i mastered this with 3 different sets of speakers and 2 different headphones.
Maybe its your speakers/headphones?
Thanks for the review though =).

I love this progression. The trumpets were really nicely put together. The solo was really nice and smooth and great to listen to over and over again. Really nice drums as well, had a very jazz feel to it. Nice job on everything dude, keep it up.

I quite enjoyed it actually. How ever, the intro was kind of random, and there were some EQing problems with the pads. The melody was nice, a happy tune, and it got stuck in my head ^^. Good luck in the contest man. 4/5 - 9/10.
http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/liste n/180871 <-- This is my second submission for the contest, and it's definately better than all my other ones. Thanks man.
(Sorry for a basic review, im kind of lazy right now) :P
Author's Response:
Hey! Thanks for reviewing back man, well I dont really agree with you about the random intro of the song...I dont think its random in anyway haha but anywaysss, you were right about my pads, thanks man I will fix them as soon as possible!
Hails!

I like that chill feel. Good violin melody, nice beat. But then again, it was kind of empty, and it can be a lot better with pads and such, unless there is a rapper over this beat. Nice job.
Keep it up. 4/5.
Author's Response:
Thanks for the review. I'll try to make a better version of this song later.

Neat remix you got hear, some what long for it, but i didn't have a problem with that. Again your mixing is troublesome, kind of hard to hear some of the stuff with out it cluttering over each other. In melody wise, great song.
Keep up the good work! 4/5.
Author's Response:
I completely agree. I would love to be taught how to master correctly. >_<

Actually found this enjoyable. But there wasn't a lot of bass in it, maybe because of the mastering. But all in all, great remix.
Keep it up. 5/5.
Author's Response:
There isnt alot of bass at the start, but bass kicks in heavier later on. My room rattles with it. Shame you didnt hear it on your system. :(

The melodies are fine, but the mixing wasn't really clear. And it was a bit boring but it is only 2 minutes long, so i guess that's fine.
Keep up the good work, 4/5
Author's Response:
